Program Description

Rowan University Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences (RowanGSBS) is a well-established research institution that was previously established in 1997 as the UMDNJ-GSBS at SOM. On July 1, 2013, we became part of Rowan University. Although RowanGSBS is now considered New Jersey’s newest public research university, we have been located in Stratford, NJ since 1997 and continue to offer a wide range of programs of study. Our state-of-the-art research facilities are fully equipped to answer the latest, toughest questions in biomedical research and was founded to provide graduate training in the many disciplines of biomedical science. Come explore how we are able to have all the benefits of a large university but also have a small campus feel in historic, Stratford, NJ.

Our Mission

The mission of the Rowan University Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences is to develop scientists who will contribute new knowledge in the biomedical disciplines through creative research and scholarship. This is accomplished through a curriculum of course work and research training that prepares our students to critically evaluate existing knowledge and to advance the frontiers of new knowledge in the biomedical sciences.
