Research interests: Brain plasticity and recovery of function following brain damage in animals and patients. Research and development in the field of recovery of low vision following brain damage; developed Vision Restoration Training (VRT), a vision training software for patients with visual field deficits; most recently, research on non-invasive electrical brain stimulation technology using alternating currents, useful for rehabilitation of visual impairment (e.g. visual field improvements in glaucoma and optic nerve damage. Animal research in the field of vision recovery to study recovery of vision after optic nerve crush as well as drug delivery and drug targeting to the brain using nanoparticle technology.
