Bio

I am a neurophysiologist. My lab combines experimental, computational and analytical techniques to understand how properties of neurons and their synaptic dynamics shape the output of oscillatory neuronal networks. For this, we do experiments primarily on crustaceans with a focus on the Jonah crab Cancer borealis and the American lobster Homarus americanus.

A separate component of my research is a close collaboration with Dr. Kamran Khodakhah on the role of cerebellar input to the midbrain dopaminergic neurons in the control of movement and reward processing. These studies are done in the mouse Mus musculus.
