After completing my PhD in Physiology and Biophysics at the University of Vermont, I went on to a postdoctoral fellowship with Dr. Rodney Parsons in the department of Anatomy & Neurobiology at UVM. I served as a postdoctoral fellow and then a Research Associate, before moving to my current faculty position in the Department of Biology at Ithaca College in 1997. At Ithaca, I teach courses in physiology and neuroscience and direct the Neuroscience minor. My research examines the modulation of autonomic neurons that control the heart, looking primarily at neurophysiological changes in neuronal processing as well as phenotypic changes with disease.
