I received my BSc in Genetics (2010), MSc in Biochemistry (2012) and PhD in Biochemistry/Neuroscience (2016) from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. I did my postdoctoral training in molecular mechanisms of Alzheimer's disease at the same University. I am an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Medical Biochemistry Leopoldo de Meis at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. I have been conducting research in Cellular and Molecular Neuroscience, with emphasis on cellular mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease. My main question relates to mechanisms driving synapse failure in neurodegeneration. Member of SfN since 2010.
